IT'S all too easy to be doubtful, skeptical, even downright cynical about motivational speakers and the lessons they impart.
But some have the undeniable power to capture your imagination and stir your emotions with their colorful words.
One such person is author, DJ and former US politician, Les Brown, who always speaks with a passion and wisdom that can only be true.
If you've ever witnessed him 'in full flight', you'll know he has an incredible ability to lift your spirits, even when you're feeling down and out.
The video you can access below is a perfect example of his work and well worth viewing, especially if you could use some inspiration.
Les' audio track has been blended with video recordings of great sporting courage and achievement, by a gentleman called Gerry Pean.
As the title of this entry suggests, it's all about convincing you, the viewer, that whatever goal you're aiming for... it's possible.
And it's a brilliant combination of words and pictures, which is certain to leave you feeling great. Enough said.

How To Make Your Dreams Come True
By Justin Harmon
“Children see magic because they look for it.” - Christopher Moore
What is it to dream?
Consumed by the chaos that surrounds me, my life is but a mere echo of a faint cry for true freedom and a dream to come true.
I’ve been stuck in a catatonic state of dismay fueled by the fire to dwell in my ever growing abyss of despair.
Will I ever reach the destination which rests in my heart? The place where majestic wonder and perpetual fortitude for life’s greatest pleasures resides?
OK. So my desire for a poetic entrance has been fulfilled, yet the relevance of the words remain unchained in my persistence towards my own dreams.
I believe there is a dream within all of us. A desire for a future that leaves us free to live openly, fully, and without the constraints of any cultural restrictions we’re presented with.
To dream means so much more than just having a visionary fantasy. Dreaming is a gift we have all been given. A way to envision our greatest desires and aspirations.
There is a problem though. Most of us have come to think of dreaming as an imaginary state reserved only for thought and not meant to become part of our reality.
I disagree with that premise. I believe our dreams can be the catalyst for our life’s transformation into reaching our greatest potential.
If we use the desire towards our dreams for fuel to move us towards them, we can bridge the gap between our dreams and our own reality.
It took me a long time to realize just how much is possible in this world when we put our dreams into action.
It’s not easy, especially when there is so much skepticism towards being able to achieve our dreams, but I now know it’s possible.
I know it’s possible because I’ve turned one of my long time dreams into a reality, well almost.
When I was in fourth grade, we had a published author, (don’t remember her name) come to our school and give a workshop on writing.
I remember being in awe of the entire experience and being obsessed with the fantasy of one day being a famous published author.
That dream, like most in life, faded as I grew older. I became subjugated by the status quo and the restrictions society placed on me.
I reluctantly got a job, then another, then another … After 30-some jobs and still as lost as I had ever been, I decided to settle. I found a job and decided to stick with it no matter what.
That just hasn’t done it for me, so two years ago I started a blog. I forgot how much I still loved to write. I decided I would write a book, so I did.
I wrote not one, but two eBooks. Then I decided I would write a book to be published and I did. I didn’t do it alone.
I enlisted the help of my newly acquired friends who were making their dreams come true to participate.
After all was said and done, 20 of some of the most remarkable people I know helped bring the long-time dream to life.
I finished the book in August, successfully funded an Indiegogo campaign to help with publishing costs, and then something unexpected happened.
I was contacted by an independent publisher who was interested in turning my once childhood dream into a reality. We worked out an agreement and the book is now in the process of publication.
If all goes as planned, it should be released around the beginning of the New Year.
It’s by no means what I dreamed it would be like, but just by believing my dream was possible and taking some steps towards making it real, I was able to actually make it happen.
I believe anyone can turn their dreams into a reality, even you. I’d like to share some of the things I believe made a world of difference on my path.
Perception
Above all, the way you see what’s possible for your life will be the determining factor to whether you start a journey towards making your dreams real or just continue passively dreaming of 'what ifs'.
If you are up for it and can get past the negative feedback from the naysayers who would never believe in their own ability to turn their dreams into a reality, you can absolutely learn to see your dreams as an inevitable future destination.
Begin to connect and surround yourself with others on a similar path as you and you’ll begin to see how much your perception changes. They will be your inspiration and support, as you will be theirs.
Dedication
You may have heard this before, but I’ve found it to be true. The bigger your dream, the more work you need to put in to make it real.
There is no substitute for hard work except maybe for the dedication to keep working through the most difficult of circumstances.
I came across many pitfalls with periods of low ambition, lost faith, and just plain old laziness.
Those may have stalled my progress from time to time, but I remained dedicated to persist in my efforts and in the end, it was worth it.
Don’t ever stop chasing. Even when you come across a roadblock, it’s OK. Accept it for what it is and keep moving forward. Dreams don’t come true overnight. Sometimes it can take years, even decades.
Strength of Purpose
Not until I came up with a good enough reason to convince myself that going after my dreams was going to be worth it, did I actually make a dedicated commitment to start pursuing them.
The reason I came up with was that I wanted to make some sort of impact in the lives of others.
I had finally come to believe in the possibility for my dreams to come true and I wanted to help others see it for themselves.
Don’t ever underestimate the power of purpose. It can push you through trying times. When you begin to question whether or not you should continue on and you ask yourself what the point is, you’ll know.
Are there more things you need to know to achieve your dreams? Sure, absolutely there are. But you know what? You continue to learn and grow as you move forward towards your dreams.
Just remember it’s all a journey. You can either strive for your dreams or not. The choice is obviously yours.
Will you take a chance on yourself and your dreams?

‘When You Have the Power of Faith in Action, Nothing Can Hold You Back’
Posted by John Lee
The
above quote is taken from the video you can access through the link below and
was spoken by an incredible young man during an episode of ‘Oprah’s Lifeclass’.
He
was born without arms and legs, and was harassed and tormented to such an
extent during his schooldays that he attempted suicide at the tender age of just 10
years old.
After
years of misery and loneliness, he took control of his life and has since
inspired people young and old throughout the world. His name is Nick Vujicic.
You
may already be aware of this extraordinary person and might have previously
viewed his YouTube videos. But every time I see a new recording, I’m inspired
all over again.
So
I make no apologies for posting this one. It’s particularly apt for anyone
who’s struggling with life’s ups and downs right now, and is wondering what to
do next.
To
quote Nick again from this video: “Even the worst part of your life can come
together for the good.” Take a look…

The Most Inspiring Video You'll Ever See
By John Lee
Ask most people who they find truly inspiring and most will name a favourite sports person, actor, singer or some other celebrity.
And while their achievements are no doubt admirable and praiseworthy, they generally pale into insignificance when compared to those of someone like Nick Vujicic.
If you’ve never heard of Nick, he’s an Australian preacher and motivational speaker, whose family originates from Serbia.
Thanks to a rare disorder known as tetra-amelia syndrome, he was also born with no limbs. But that hasn’t stopped Nick leading a full and inspiring life.
Far from it.
In fact, his resilience in the face of overwhelming odds is an object lesson to anyone who has ever felt that life/the world/society/their background – fill in the blank – has dealt them a bad hand.
That’s just about all of us, from time to time, if we’re honest.
Now, you might be telling yourself, “OK, but he was born that way, so he’s never known any different”.
But imagine seeing others enjoy all the wonderful experiences there are in the world and realizing that – in many cases – you can never do the same.
So click on the link below and watch Nick in action. Then take a few minutes to really appreciate the good things you have in your life – no matter how tough it might be right now.

A Message From the Big 'U'
By Carol James
I am your best friend.
I am your confidant. You can tell me anything at all and I will always understand and love you. I know that you always do your very best and that sometimes your fears get the best of you. I know that you have come a long way and have grown and matured in immeasurable ways. To me, you are a beautiful, bright shining light, beaming with courage and soul.
I am always here for you, waiting at your beck and call. Tell me what you want. Tell me all your dreams and I will be delighted to help you live them. I can find people and arrange circumstances in ways that you could never imagine. Sometimes my orchestrations are called miracles, but I just see them as doing my job.
I am here for you. I have always been here for you, even when you did not know I existed. I am the one who brings people and circumstances to you. All that you experience is a result of that which I bring to you. All that I bring to you is a result of that which you ask for, even if you don't understand how you are asking.
It's really a simple relationship we have, you and I. It's one of master and slave, dreamer and dream maker. You are master and I am slave. But I love my job. I get to grant your wishes for a living so that's okay by me. Your wish is my command.
I am good at what I do. I am predictable, consistent, flexible, fluid, accurate and timely. You can always depend on me to give you exactly what you ask for when the timing is right. Be careful what you ask for, you might get it. I don't decipher or question your requests, I follow them to the letter.
I am compelled to bring to you all that matches what you focus on, regardless of how that focus causes you to feel. It doesn't matter whether you want it or not, because from my perspective if you didn't want it you wouldn't be focusing on it, so if you are focusing on it then you must want it. My job is to find stuff that matches your tone - your point of focus - and orchestrate the connection between you and it.
From my perspective, it's easy to see why you don't always like what you get, but I know that eventually you will come to remember all that you have forgotten. In the meantime, I will continue to be here serving your needs and fulfilling your wishes.
I am here for you. Ask anything of me. I have nothing to do but to serve you. The rest is up to you.
I am your best friend.

We can all make a difference
As you sit at your desk on a normal working day – whether you love what you do or are less than enamoured with your current means of making a living – do you ever question your situation, as I do? Do you sometimes think to yourself, ‘I could, and probably should, be doing something much more worthwhile – something where I’m really making a difference to the wider world and the welfare of others’?
Since you’re reading this blog, you probably do, unless you’ve already found that calling, in which case, ‘Good on you!’ Really! For myself, I fall into the former category at the moment – and I do mean ‘at the moment’, because change is certainly on the way as I write this. But as I go about my daily life, there are certain sources of inspiration I keep close by to lift me when I need it.
One of these sources is a subscription to website by leading personal development teacher Bob Proctor, which is called ‘Insight of the Day’ (http://www.insightoftheday.com/). Anyhow, from Monday through Thursday, you receive inspirational quotes, to your designated email address, from the likes of Napolean Hill, Dale Carnegie, Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, John Demartini, Bob himself and many, many other very wise and not so famous folk.
Every Friday, you receive an uplifting story, which often recounts how people overcame great odds to achieve success, dealt with difficult circumstances and relationships, made outstanding discoveries and achieved wonderful things in the face of adversity. And every so often there’s a simple tale of how someone just set out to make a real difference in a particular way or place. One such story recently found its way into my in box and so struck me that I decided to share it here.
As you’ll see, it’s by writer and blogger Sameer Vasta, and has a wider message for us all to consider when we’re sitting at our desk, pondering our current situation. Click on the blue hyperlink and you’ll also be taken to a website where you can find out more about the main subject. Enjoy!
Man grows 1,360-acre forest in India...by himself
A man in India single-handedly planted an entire forest, proving that one person really can make a large difference.
You always hear that one person can make a large difference in the world. Today, we’ve got a story that proves that saying. When he was a teenager in Northern India’s Assam region about 30 years ago, Jadav “Molai” Payeng began planting seeds in a sandbar near his birthplace.
A few years later, he moved into the area and turned the seed-planting and tree-nurturing into his life’s work, planting seeds and helping them grow over a wide area that was initially left for desolate.
In the past 30 years, his seed-planting endeavors have resulted in a massive, 1,360-acre jungle in Assam, a forest ecosystem that has left an incredible mark on the Indian landscape and stands as a testament to Payeng’s dedication.
Initially, the forest department told Payeng that trees could not grow in that area. He was not dissuaded; instead he dedicated himself to the task of nurturing the forest, and his dedication has produced results.
The Molai woods, in addition to being covered with lush greenery, is now home to a whole host of creatures big and small, including birds, deer, rhinos, tigers, and elephants. Jadav “Molai” Payeng is a hero to those animals, to the ecosystem in the area, and to conservationists across India.
But he is also a hero to us, people living oceans away who don’t necessarily work in forestry or in the environment industry.
Payeng is a hero because he has proven that with commitment, blood, sweat, knowledge, and dedication to making a difference, one person can truly make a difference, and a large difference, to the world.
It’s easy to discount the impact that we can have on the people and places around us. It’s easy to feel insignificant when faced with the enormity of the issues that surround us. But it’s important to remember that our actions, no matter how small they may be, make a difference.
Whether it’s bringing a smile to someone’s day or revitalizing a forest ecosystem, the little acts of kindness and good have enormous impact. Our small actions may not necessarily lead to a forest and safe haven for animals, but they have the potential to grow and flourish all the same.
